Volunteer in the UK

The Irregular Periodical editor or content developer

Work with the Communications Officer on our Advocacy Committee to compile our Irregular Periodical. This feminist, fun filled newsletter keeps our network up to date on all things Irise, sharing stories from our work, recommended reads and opportunities to get involved or learn more about why menstruation matters. Check out the latest edition here.

Help develop concepts for the Periodical and create and edit content.

Events and Campaigns Volunteer

Work with our UK Projects and Fundraising Officer on our Advocacy Committee to develop concepts and resources to support our events and campaigns throughout the year.

Friends of Irise officer on the Advocacy Committee

Work with the Advocacy Committee to grow our Friends of Irise network- finding ways to enable more people to set up branches and support our work. The Advocacy Committee meets virtually every month and in person 2-3 times a year. We’re looking for someone with leadership potential who will champion Friends of Irise and work effectively with the rest of the team to help the network grow.

Work placement in the UK

Complete a placement in our UK office (in Sheffield). Minimum 1 afternoon a week for 6 months. Gain experience of the inner workings of a small charity through data processing and analysis, developing communication materials and manning our social media channels or supporting organising events and volunteer management.

Volunteer in Uganda

Storytelling placement in Uganda

Spend 2-3 months with our Ugandan team collecting case studies from our projects. Help ensure that women’s and girls’ stories are told and their voices heard, alongside helping us demonstrate the impact of our work. We ask all volunteers to raise at least £1000 to support our work as part of their placement- our team will help you every step of the way.

Great experience for anyone with a passion for storytelling, photography or communications and marketing.
