TPEN Small Grants Round

Irise / TPEN Small Grants Round

The Period Equality Network Small Grants Round

*Applications have now closed. If you applied within the deadline, please expect a response by 24th June*

Irise International and Irise Institute East Africa (IIEA) launched The Period Equality Network (TPEN) in April 2021. The Period Equality Network is a community for those working on grassroots period equality initiatives in East Africa and beyond. TPEN provides a space where grassroots organisations and those working with them can share resources & learning, access training, and be part of an active community to support their work and advocacy.

In partnership with the Waterloo Foundation, Irise Institute East Africa is seeking for bold and innovative ideas from Period Equality Network potential small charities/non-government organisations and community-based organisations that catalyse significant change in Menstrual Health Management Interventions in Uganda.

The ideas are expected to drive change or demonstrate further learning in practice across these areas:

    1. Intervention – how to strengthen programming across the following thematic areas: Sustainability and local ownership, Menstrual Products, Menstrual Health Education and Stigma and Social Norms.
    2. Integration – how to integrate menstrual health into school based, WASH and SRH programming.
    3. Impact – how to understand and measure menstrual health intervention.
    4. Inclusivity – how to make menstrual health programming inclusive of intersectional inequality and disadvantage with case studies of effective practice in action.

Grant Details

Successful proposals will receive small grants of up to £2,000 pound sterling for a short period of time, (12 months), to develop and implement their proposed interventions. Up to 5 network members will be awarded in these small grants round.
