Female artist from the north of England, passionate about feminism, helping vulnerable women and girls and creating equality. Sadie expresses this through her diverse artistic styles, as well as her experiences as a diasbled person and lesbian.
For this piece, the brown represents the beautiful deep skin tones, and peach represents the, also beautiful, snowy skin tones. Sadie expresses the relevance of this during COVID with the worrying statistics regarding BAME people being of higher risk than their white counterparts. The red represents menstruation and the texture rough to display the pain, whilst the metallic gold represents its natural function, not “dirty”, but something that unites.
