Livy and Christy received PSHE lessons at school through Irise, learning about our projects, our mission and the importance of addressing period poverty. Feeling motivated by these sessions, Christy and Livy decided to put their newly inspired passion into action and signed up to become Irise student ambassadors! Their role includes advocacy and fundraising for Irise, raising awareness and generating funds to support our work. Last year, Livy and Christy held a stall at their school Christmas fair, selling jewellery made by our female Ugandan entrepreneurs, and managed to raise a fantastic £560!
Livy and Christy are an inspiring example of how easy it is to raise funds to support vulnerable girls experiencing period poverty. Their time and commitment are so greatly appreciated by the whole Irise team and we can’t wait to see what projects they take on next!
